Color Inspiration using the Kuler panel in Illustrator

I find myself wanting color inspiration and looking on the web for it. Well, built into Adobe Illustrator is a panel called the Kuler panel. This panel allows you to search color themes for inspiration that you can download s swatches into your Illustrator artwork. You can even share your colors with the Kuler community!
In this Illustrator video tip, I'll show you how to access the Kuler panel, search colors, use them in your atrwork and upload your own colors for sharing.

There's LOTS of cool things we can do with PDF files, especially from Acrobat 9 and later with Flash running natively. I found a widget for Acrobat made by Joel Geraci (http://blogs.adobe.com/pdfdevjunkie/2011/05/youtube-widget-for-acrobat-updated-finally.html) that allows you to play YouTube (using the embed code) in a PDF! I'll show you how easy it is to get working. It requires Acrobat 9 or later.

The Adobe Illustrator CS5 perspective grid feature is one of my favorites. I can't always force it into a project, but when I can use it, it can go much faster if you use shortcuts.

Turn off object highlight with Selection tool in Adobe InDesign

If you have InDesign CS5 or CS5.5 and you work with the selection tools (duh), then you probably noticed that when you position the pointer over an object, it's frame highlights. This can be useful at times, but you should be able to turn it off, right? In InDesign CS5.5 (new), you CAN turn it off (unlike CS5. I'll show you how (it's an easy preference setting).
